Vandalism of Remembrance Books

The Friends of Lawnswood Cemetery are shocked and saddened by the callous and mindless act of vandalism against the Books of Remembrance at Lawnswood Cemetery that occurred over the Easter period. The personal inscriptions provide comfort to relatives and friends of those remembered. It is a violation of our deepest sense of respect and remembrance for loved ones lost, which these precious books represent. We support Leeds City Council’s intentions to try and restore them, and we hope that whoever is responsible is identified and held accountable for their actions.
